JOHNNIE FROM SOUTH CAROLINA

Connecting via email with us after finding us online, Johnny had already been a Wissing eyewear lover! He previously purchased a few pair in South Carolina but could no longer find a retailer there. He then reached out to the Wissing company in Germany asking for retailers in the area of Germany he was planning to be on a work trip. On their recommendation he visited 5 different optical shops while there but they did not stock any fun Wissing frames(lots of boring black and brown were his words)! He said he "traipsed all over but with no success of finding a new pair or two".

From the beginning Johnny was wowed by our attention to detail  in the correspondence via emails and phone conversations. He then found a fabulous pair with our help - a customized double square/double round with a fantastic stripe multicolor acetate.

When the frame arrived Johnny said he and his wife, Eva, flew from South Carolina to Chicago, rented a car drove to visit us in Bloomington to have his new frames measured and fit with his prescription lenses! They spent the morning with us and were thrilled with our shop, the relaxed atmosphere, and our selection of eyewear from around the world. He even found another truly one of a kind piece (also Wissing) handcrafted with silk! Johnnie was ecstatic to have found us and we couldn't be more thrilled to have helped him find his perfect look! Another success story that reaffirms at Specs "you'll love what you see in 2020" and beyond!

JULIE MILLER "jULES"

Jules first discovered Specs Around Town last July while searching to find a special pair of glasses to wear on her wedding day. Jules had fallen in love with Kirk and Kirk's eyewear collection that she saw online, and found us by using the store locator on their website. She contacted us while the store was closed for remodel, but that didn't stop us from inviting her to come in and browse despite the dust! Jules brought her mother, father, and fiance with her to shop. Jules' father is an optometrist, and it was fun to talk business with someone in the field, while Jules browsed our Kirk and Kirk eyewear selection. It didn't take long to find her frame, and her whole family agreed that this frame was "the one." Jules says, "I have always felt like my glasses are an extension of my personality and definitely an extension of my style. I have eclectic taste...a mix of a love for all things vintage and modern at the same time. I'm not like most brides, who opt to ditch their everyday glasses for contact lenses for such a special event. The day I stepped foot in Specs Around Town was as exciting as the day I found my dress. I said 'Yes to the Specs!' The hardest part was waiting several months to debut my new glasses. I wanted to wear them as soon as they came in! They are the most comfortable pair of glasses I have ever worn, and are now my go-to everyday pair. I can't wait to purchase another pair from Specs Around Town soon." Jules and Chase were married on October 12th, 2019 and happily reside in Bloomington, IL.
